Easter!!

Easter was a great day! Holly said she woke up at 3 am and then went back to sleep and then finally came into our room around 7:30. She couldn't wait! But...Noelle was still sleeping. Finally, Noelle woke up and they looked for eggs and ate some candy. Holly was content. Then we had to put it in gear so we could get to church on time!! We made it! Our neighbors came down for dinner. I even made a ham!! (shocking, I know) We decided to make dinner together since kids don't really appreciate a good dinner. I do have to recomend the Cheesecake Factory's Italian Cream Cake. It is amazing!! It is light and lemony. YUMMY!

My Addiction

Hi, my name is Michele and I am a chocoholic. I admit that I have a small weakness for chocolate. Ok, it is an infinite weakness, especially for dark chocolate. Then add Easter candy in the mix and I want to crawl under a rock until it is all gone! My new vice is Royal Dark Cadbury Mini Eggs. Why don't we just slap on 10 lbs to my thighs? I don't think I can run far enough to get away from this little piece of heaven. Nor do I want to. My saving grace is that they come in a small (I mean like 10 eggs to a bag) size and I think I can run off one of those. It is just the right size to calm my frazzeled soul without packing the pounds on. Good thing mini eggs are only here for Easter!!

Spring, please!!!!!!!!

I want spring to be here now!!!!!!!!! I want to run outside without being bundled up. I want to wear different clothes. I want to send my kids outside to play. I want to open my windows. I want the cat to go outside (he is really grouchy and hates the cold). I want to see green anything and not matted brown grass. I want to wash my car and not have it dirty again in two days. And the weather is just teasing me being warm and then cold and then looking like it is warm, but it is really cold. I have been good all winter, even playing in the snow and I am now ready for my reward. There is my rant for today. My children thank you for being my audience!

Super Reader

Holly has become our little bookworm. She is reading all the time! It is amazing that one day they can kind of read and then they are devouring any and all books they find! Her favorites have been the Rainbow Fairies. I haven't been able to find them at the library, so we have to buy them! And then it takes her about 45 min to read the entire book. She is now reading The Boxcar Children. Shawn read them when he was her age. I had never heard of them before! I guess I was too busy reading my Sweet Valley High books!! Holly has a hard time deciding which books to check out at the library. Such the dilemma!!! I wish this could always be our big problem!

School Program

Noelle had her "Patriotic Program" at school. I knew that she knew all the songs because she had been singing them for the last month! We get there and the songs begin and......nothing. She wouldn't sing. She waved her flag, but refused to sing. She had such a lovely smile too (as noted above). When she got home, she started singing all the songs!!!! SIGH...................

Rock Star

Our neighbor gave Noelle this guitar. Since receiving it, she carries it around with her, slung over her back. Then we get a package from my parents with the hat. And the hat goes on...
The other day she dressed herself in her "glamour kitty" and then threw her hat on along with the guitar. It was quite the outfit.
I took the video but had the camera turned the wrong way. Tilt your head and enjoy. Rock on!

Oh! All this snow!!

This is how we spent our Sunday. Shawn went over to the church for his meetings and then called (as we were almost ready) to say that church was cancelled! (Of course church wouldn't be cancelled the week I have meetings!) As soon as Shawn got home he was out with his shovel trying to get the van up the driveway. Noelle was "helping" by being the point of reference. On a good day she is about 38'' and the snow seems to be close to her head. We did get the van in after a few tries. I entertained myself by making a big pot of spaghetti sauce and some homemade bread. It has been a most relaxing day!! And now it is snowing again!!! I think some brownies may be in order.
