Best Friends

This is what two peas in a pod look like. Noelle and Logan are almost inseparable. Logan calls around 8:45ish (sometimes earlier) and then they discuss what they want to do for the day. He then comes and "picks up" Noelle to play. They don't have school on Mondays and litterally play ALL day long!! They play outside every chance they get, rain, snow or shine!! One of their favorite games is called "Dudes." You just walk around calling each other "dude." It is a riot!!

The best thing of all is when they call everyone else Logan or Noelle. It is just too bad that they won't be in the same grade! Noelle just misses the cutoff date for school. I hope they stay good friends.

Sledding Fun!!

I can't remember the last time we had so much snow!! The kids are loving all the sledding and snow angels etc... that comes with snow!!! The school across the street has a great hill for sledding. We all went over for a little fun. Holly and I tried the "big jump" for kicks. Noelle was pretending to be a penguin by sliding on her tummy. Noelle always says that she looks like a pink oompaloompa in her snow suit. I think she looks like the kid from a Christmas Story. The snow is great and even better in the mountains! Anyone is invited if they want to come and ski!!

Warning!! Obnoxious mom

Ok, I am going to be an obnoxious mom and I am sorry. Since Holly is on a team this year for dance, we are required to buy pictures. I just wanted to share them with everyone. These are a few of our favorites!!

Running to Nowhere

I am slowly moving in to the new millenium. Shawn got me a new ipod for Christmas and a Nike + ipod to track my running. The sensor attaches to my shoe and then shows time, distance, speed and calories of my run. I can then download the information to the Nike + ipod site and it tracks my progress. My goal for January is 40 miles. I only run 5 days a week, so that is only 2 miles a day. I am a converted runner. Who would have ever thought that I would be a runner?!?!!? The plan is to run a half marathon this year. We (my neighbor and I) just have to decide which race we want to do. Any suggestions?

Dancing Queens

Holly and Noelle had their winter dance recital just before Christmas. This was Noelle's first recital and she was excited but a little scared. I wasn't sure she was going to make it on stage until she was out there and dancing!! She did great once she was out and dancing.
Holly is now on a competitive dance team and had 2 dance numbers. She did great in both!! She will have her competition in the spring.
I am quickly learning about the dance world. It is quite the education for me!!

No Problems Houston!!

What trip to Houston would be complete without a trip to NASA? Shawn and the girls had never been to the Johnson Space Center. We spent the afternoon looking at space suits, Star Wars memorabilia, learning about life in space and a mock shuttle. Shawn and I went on a tour of "historic" mission control and rocket park. This mission control was used since the beginnings of the space program, including Apollo 13. The new mission control has been in use for the last 10 or so years (or something like that.) Holly and Noelle were entertained by Grandma and Grandpa while went on the tour. We love grandparents!!! The rocket is the Saturn V and it is HUGE!!! Shawn loved this part. The pictures can't even translate the size of this massive rocket.
